Sew Mama, Sew Giveaway Day!

Today is the day! If you have never taken part in Sew Mama, Sew’s Giveaway Day before, you are in for a treat. Tons of bloggers will be posting giveaways today, in the spirit of friendship and kindness. You should totally check out all the offerings, but I assume you would like to see what I am offering before you do!

Today my giveaway includes two items, the first is a pattern that can also be found in my online store (here). It is called “Slideshow” by Atkinson Designs.

I haven’t actually tried this particular pattern myself, but if the “Yellow Brick Road” pattern is any indication, her patterns are excellent! Her directions are clear, concise, and very easy to follow. This should be an enjoyable pattern to make.

The second item included in my giveaway is this fat quarter bundle from my own personal fabric stash.

This bundle is made up of 11 fat quarters from Denyse Schmidt’s new line of fabrics, “Picnic and Fairgrounds”. One lucky winner will get both the pattern and the fat quarter bundle. These fabrics are simply divine and I think this will be a great pattern to show them off.

All you have to do to enter this drawing is leave me a comment. Easy as that! To make it fun, you can tell me what your most treasured, or most wanted, non-fabric quilting tool is.

If you are new to my blog, I am the owner of a new online shop called Dewberry Lane. We specialize in all your non-fabric quilting needs. The store just opened in mid-April, and May is our official Grand Opening month! You will find that most of our prices are currently 10% below retail. That may not last forever, but our newsletter will keep you up to date on all our specials and new items in store. If you sign up for our newsletter, our subscribers are entered into a drawing for a free pattern each month.

To celebrate my new store, I am going to allow for extra entries into this giveaway as well. Just let me know that you have done (or already do) any of the following, and you will get one bonus entry per item:

1. Sign up for the Dewberry Lane newsletter (here, left-hand side)
2. Follow Dewberry Lane on Twitter (here)
3. Follow this blog (Using Google friend to the right, or any other feed reader, just let me know what you use.)

This allows each of you a total of 4 chances to win this fun prize! I am also happy to ship internationally.

I hope you enjoy all the wonderful giveaways today, I know I will be hopping around and entering as many as I can! Be sure to check out the full list here.

Contest is now closed!! I will make a new post announcing the winner very soon. Thanks everyone!!

Happy Quilting!
Rachel

  1. My most treasured quilting tool is my rotary cutter for sure. We are the best of friends, spending almost every day together. She has only nicked me once and I forgave her. After all, we are BFFs πŸ™‚

    I enjoy following your blog.

  2. Thanks for the giveaway πŸ™‚
I think my most treasured tool is my rotary cutter, too. And my most wanted is a long (at least 12,5″) proper quilting ruler (I’m using a thin metal one like the those children use at school, but at least it’s non-slippery)

  3. And I’ve already signed up for the newsletter.

  4. And I’m your follower (through Google friend) too πŸ™‚
(And I hope I’m doing it right putting these in separate comments.)

    1. Either way would be fine. πŸ™‚ Thanks for entering and following!!

      Cheers!
      Rachel

  5. I would love a die cutter – one that cuts fabric. I have a rotary cutter but it rusts easily. Singapore is too humid to support a rotary blade.

  6. Thanks for the giveaway
As for non fabric tools – i really must buy a new rotary cutter. Amazing how difficult it is without one.

  7. Wow – what a fabulous stash you must have!

The tool(s) I most want for quilting right now is more than out plastic-measuring-ruler-y thing. I’m such a newbie I don’t know what the right name is. Anyway, I have one that is 18.5″ by 6.5″ and it does a lot but I think it’d be nice to have a selection.

  8. I love my sewing machine Naumann which originally belonged to my great-grandmother – sometimes, I admit, I long for zig zag stitches and other fancy things, but then I see my machine again and forget about it all.

  9. I just started following you on twitter!

All these giveaways are so much fun and I’m finding so many great new blogs (I’m a new quilter!)

  10. Love my Jack…..my ripper, that is…most used tool I have!

  11. And I am a follower (Google Friend) Too….Congratulations on your new store!

  12. I think I would most want a rotating cutting mat, that would make life soooo much easier.

  13. Lovely! Thanks so much! My most want thing is a triangle ruler!

  14. I am a new follower of your blog! Thanks so much!

  15. Thank you for a lovely giveaway! =)

  16. I follow your blog!

  17. Thanx for the giveaway

  18. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway! Most treasured tool? Anything that makes my life easier πŸ™‚

  19. Lovely fabrics. I can’t do without a sharp pair of scissors.

  20. would love to win!

  21. Fave tool is my circle cutter! Thx for the chance to win:)

  22. I’m new to quilting, and so far have been doing everything by hand, which is s-l-o-o-o-w. Working on getting that sewing machine, but I have to save for a little while πŸ™‚

THanks for the chance to win! Those fabrics are supercute. πŸ˜€

  23. I love the new Denyse Schmidt but have yet to get any. How generous of you to share!

    1. This is my first time working with Denyse’s fabrics too, they are so yummy and cozy looking! I cannot wait to make something with them.

      Good luck!
      Rachel

  24. It has to be my walking foot. I LOVE it. I don’t even quilt (yet) but it’s great for other things too. I’d so love to make a quilt but I’ve yet to commit to a pattern or fabrics for one – I think this could be the one! Fingers crossed for me.

  25. Awesome giveaway! My fav tool would have to be my square ruler, at 4.5 inches. I use it ALL the time to square up blocks before sewing them into a top!

  26. I’m your 76th follower! Thanks for the chance to win….by the way, congratulations on your shop, and how is the homeschooling coming along?

    1. I am still researching everything, we will officially start home schooling on August 1, though we probably won’t really start with the schooling part until we return from Disney at the end of September. I am going to do some schoolish type things centered around stuff we’ll see in Disney (like learn about the different countries in Epcot etc….) in September, but we won’t get down to it till after that. My son is very excited though! Thanks so much for asking.

      Rachel

  34. I already follow you.

  35. And I receive your newsletter too!

  36. My favorite sewing tool … this is kind of silly. When I was 15 or so, “hair sticks” were really popular, fancy sticks to hold your bun in place. I sanded, stained, and oiled some regular eating chopsticks until they were just beautiful and gleaming (and not oily). Well the fad passed but now I have a beautiful poking/turning tool with some history!

  37. Like many quilters, my #1 used quilting tool is my rotary cutter. On my wish list would be a rotating self-healing mat. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  38. I signed up for your shop newsletter. I’m relatively new to quilting and I know I need to learn more about available quilt tool options, particularly how to use the specialty rulers. They seem so complicated, but I know they must be great time-savers if I can just figure out how to use them!

  39. I signed up to follow your blog.

  99. Thanks for the giveaway! Super awesome fabrics.

  100. My tool of choice is a white hard plastic thing with a narrow, almost sharp, edge that “draws” lines on my fabric that I can then use to line up overlapping fabric or sew a seam. Since I can’t sew straight for the life of me, this little thing is very useful. No idea what you call it though, I got it as a gift.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  301. My scissors. I have several pair of 4″ that are all around my sewing room and 1 small pair that never leaves the side of my sewing machine. My grandkids know I will not be kind to who ever uses my fabric scissors to cut paper. I’m a little protective that way. Thanks bc(underscore)hats(at)hotmail(dot)com

    1. πŸ™‚ Well I figure it’s better to be followed in a feed people actually use, then one they don’t!! πŸ™‚ I follow all my blogs using the regular Google Feed Reader (not Friend Connect), so I never get that “extra” entry even if I really am a follower!!
